Suzann E. Pennington, CFA — Chief Investment Officer
Suzann Pennington, CFA, is the Chief Investment Officer, for Foresters Asset Management. Ms. Pennington was previously Chief Investment Officer, Managing Director, and Head of Equities at CIBC Global Asset Management Inc, overseeing all portfolio management and research efforts and managed the Canadian all-cap equity mandates. Ms. Pennington has also held various senior roles at Mackenzie Financial Corp including Chief Investment Officer at Howson Tattersall Investment Counsel.
Before that, she held the position of Vice-President of Equities and Head of International Research at Sceptre Investment Counsel Ltd. and was a Founding Partner and Senior Portfolio Manager at Synergy Asset Management. Ms. Pennington began her investment career at the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System. She is a CFA charter holder. Ms. Pennington holds a Bachelor of Math in Actuarial Science and Statistics from the University of Waterloo. In addition, Ms. Pennington is a member of the Investor Steering Committee for the 30% Club of Canada and former director of the Canadian coalition for Good Governance.
Katia Ivanova, CFA — Senior Portfolio Manager, Equities
Katia Ivanova, Senior Portfolio Manager, Equities, has 16 years of investment experience. She has conducted fundamental analysis across many sectors, both domestically and globally. Prior to joining Foresters Asset Management in 2013, Katia worked at Sceptre Investment Counsel as a Global Financial Services specialist and at RBC Capital Markets covering a variety of different business trust and industry specialties.
Katia graduated from York University’s Schulich School of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) in 1998 and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Amelia Tsang, CFA — Portfolio Manager, Equities
Amelia Tsang, Portfolio Manager, Equities, has more than 15 years of investment experience. She is responsible for managing equity income portfolios for FAM’s income focused equity and balanced funds. She covers both Canadian and U.S. income producing equity securities.
Amelia joined Foresters Asset Management in 2007. Prior to joining FAM, Amelia was Manager, Investor Relations at BMO Financial Group. She has also worked at BMO Capital Markets as an Equity Research Associate and was a member of the top ranked transportation and industrial products team.
Amelia graduated from York University’s Schulich School of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration with Distinction in 1999. She earned her Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2002 and is a member of the Toronto CFA Society.
Evan Minsky, CFA, Analyst
Evan Minsky, CFA, Analyst, Public Equities, has 12 years of investment experience, including research and analysis of North American Industrials, Consumer Discretionary, Consumer Staples and Financial sectors. Evan is a member of FAM’s equity research team contributing to equity and balanced mandates. He covers both the Canadian and U.S. markets.
Evan joined Foresters Asset Management in 2018. Prior to joining FAM, Evan was an Equity Analyst at 1832 Asset Management (Dynamic Funds), and an Equity Research Associate Analyst at Canaccord Genuity.
Evan graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction in 2003. He earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2007 and is a member of the Toronto CFA Society.
Sean Lee, CFA — Equity Trader/Analyst
Sean Lee, Equity Trader/Analyst, assists the Portfolio Managers to execute equity trades across Foresters Asset Management’s portfolios. In addition, he is responsible for equity research, factor modelling and quantitative analysis within the portfolios. Sean joined Foresters Asset Management in 2014 as a Client Service Manager, responsible for institutional client reporting and communications, as well as marketing support. Sean’s prior positions include Director, Client Management at Kingsdale Shareholder Services Inc., Pension Specialist at Fidelity Investments Inc., and Equities Trader with Swift Trade Inc.
Sean graduated from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Commerce (Specialist in Commerce & Finance, Major in Economics) in 2006 and and earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2016.
