Imran Chaudhry, CFA, MBA — Vice-President & Senior Portfolio Manager, Fixed Income
Imran Chaudhry is a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager responsible for co-managing over $8 billion in fixed-income assets. Imran joined Foresters Asset Management (formerly Aegon Capital Management) in 2005 as a Fixed Income Analyst. Prior to joining FAM, Imran worked as an Investment Accountant for ivari. He began his career in Finance in 2000 at TAL Private Management Ltd. as a Senior Portfolio Administrator.
Imran earned an MBA from Allama Iqbal University, Pakistan in 1996 and a LLB from University of Punjab, Pakistan in 1995. Imran also holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics from University of Punjab, Pakistan. He achieved the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2013.
Kon-Yu Lau, CFA, FRM — Vice-President & Senior Portfolio Manager, Fixed Income
Kon-Yu Lau is a fixed-income portfolio manager, responsible for co-managing over $8 billion in fixed-income assets. Kon-Yu joined Foresters Asset Management (formerly Aegon Capital Management) as a fixed-income analyst in 2002. Before joining FAM, he was an investment accountant valuations specialist at ivari.
Kon-Yu graduated from McGill University with a BCom in finance and international business in 1997. He received his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2006 and has also earned the Financial Risk Management (FRM) designation in 2003.
Barbara Berry — Assistant Vice President, Money Market Portfolio Manager
Barbara Berry is assistant vice-president and a money market portfolio manager, responsible for managing $150 million CAD in segregated, index, total return and insurance money market portfolios. In addition, she is responsible for managing over $600 million in ongoing cash flow for the company’s actively managed portfolios and life insurance accounts.
Barbara joined Foresters Asset Management in 1997. She began her career in 1991 as assistant manager, investor financing, at The Intellivest Group, and then moved on to Northam Realty Ltd. in 1995.
Barbara graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a BA in administrative and commercial studies and finance and economics in 1991. She is a member of the Toronto CFA Society and the CFA Institute.
Sui Wang, CFA—Fixed Income Analyst
Sui Wang is a Fixed Income Analyst responsible for fundamental credit research within the Canadian fixed income market. Sui joined Foresters Asset Management (formerly Aegon Asset Management) in an operational capacity in 2014. Prior to joining FAM, she was an Intermediate Investment Accountant with, ivari. Sui began her career with ACE INA Insurance as a Financial Analyst, responsible for the preparation and analysis of annual financial statements, as well as analysis supporting budgeting and forecasting decisions.
Sui graduated from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce in 2009. She received her Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2015, is an FRM Level II candidate and is studying for her CGA.
Albert Wong, CFA—Fixed Income Analyst
Albert Wong is a Fixed Income Analyst responsible for fundamental credit research within the Canadian fixed income market. Albert joined Foresters Asset Management in 2017, prior to which, he was an Assistant Portfolio Manager with our affiliate, Foresters Financial, responsible for the management of a U.S. total return fixed income portfolio and for investment grade corporate credit analysis. Albert began his career at Foresters Financial in June 2010 as a Financial Analyst and subsequently as an Investment Analyst and Money Market Trader. Prior responsibilities have included the management of Canadian and U.S. short term total return portfolios and of a Canadian preferred share portfolio backing insurance liabilities, as well as oversight of the fixed income portfolio of Foresters’ pension plan.
Albert graduated from the Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology, with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in 2010. He received his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2016, and is a member of the Toronto CFA Society.
